Pressure

Sue’s Views
How are your stress levels? As any athlete will tell you ….. stress is their friend! It’s what makes them strong and able to compete against the best. But too much stress can cause bones and ligaments to fracture. The pressures of life have the same effect. The right amount of pressure keeps the wheel turning. Without it ….. we would become idle and lazy. It might feel good to live in comfort and ease ….. but we would soon stagnate and become useless. See your pressure points as opportunities to grow. But there must be balance. If stress is compromising your health ….. it’s time to seek help. Do you need to say ‘no’ more often? Is there a conversation that needs to be had? Are you being driven by expectations of others? Some thoughts to mull over and pray about!

Home

Sue’s Views
What does ‘home’ mean to you? It’s been said that ‘Home is where the heart is!’ For many of us who have migrated to other countries ….. we may feel uncertain about where our actual home is. For some ….. home is a safe haven we love to come home to. For others ….. it may be the last place we want to be. The truth is ….. this world is only our temporary home. Our true home is yet to be experienced. Our Heavenly home will be filled with love ….. joy ….. peace ….. and more than we could ever dream of. When that day comes ….. we can truly say we are home! But for now ….. let’s do our best to make our earthly home a place of Heaven on earth.

Prepare the Way of the Lord

Sue’s Views
Life’s journey is filled with highs and lows ….. struggles and curveballs! Before Jesus began His ministry on earth ….. his cousin John was sent to ‘Prepare the way’!
“A voice of one calling in the wilderness,
‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.
Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low.
The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth.
And all people will see God’s salvation.’” Luke 3:4-6
During His time on earth ….. Jesus taught and exposed the attitudes that stood in the way of people coming into Gods kingdom. The valleys of despair ….. hopelessness ….. indecision. The mountains of pride ….. intimidation ….. opposition. The crooked roads of lies ….. deception ….. manipulation. The rough ways of hardship ….. poverty ….. sickness etc. He came to show us that ….. when we surrender everything to Him ….. He will lead us to our destination.

Mums Part 2

Sue’s Views
I’m happy to say the mother duck got her babies safely to the other lake! She was very protective of course as we walked by ….. and Dad was nearby as well. She’ll no doubt have her work cut out for her in the days to come. There’s bound to be at least one who pushes the boundaries! And it doesn’t end when they grow up either! A mother’s heart will always be soft towards her children no matter how old they are!

Mums

Sue’s Views
I was walking over a bridge yesterday when I heard some frantic quacking! I looked down and saw this mother duck trying to move her seven babies from one lake to the other. In the end ….. she just jumped down the waterfall and her babies followed! I thought about how helpless we Mums feel at times. So often we want to do things for our children ….. but the best we can do is to lead by example. Our advice won’t always be appreciated ….. and they may not do things our way ….. but they will remember what they see us do and adapt it to their own method. God sees you, Mum, and He cares for your children even more than you do!

Healing

Sue’s Views
With so much sickness around ….. and the strain that’s being put on our health system ….. we must rely more and more on God for healing. Over the years ….. my family and I have experienced miracle after miracle. Some have been instant healings. Some over time. But the majority have been where God has imparted wisdom and knowledge that have been up to us to put into practice. Things like naturally healthy foods ….. and understanding of how our bodies work. Dealing with the root cause ….. and getting things in balance. Dealing with stress ….. and recognising it’s triggers. Breaking generational curses when we see patterns of disease ….. or tendencies towards certain addictions. The best part is ….. you dont need an appointment! He won’t tell you to come back next week! He is only a prayer away.
“Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.” 3 John 1:2

Who Do You Choose?

Sue’s Views
With local elections coming up next month ….. and national elections next year ….. it can be confusing to know who to vote for. People vote for different reasons. Some vote for the person or party their parents voted for. Some for who is promising better pay and living standards. Others for anyone other than the ones currently in power. But there’s a more important ‘election’ we all need to think seriously about. There are actually only two ‘parties’ to choose from. They are called The Kingdom of Darkness and the Kingdom of Light. They are both here on earth and fighting for your vote. It’s a no brainer really! One offers love ….. joy ….. peace ….. eternal salvation. The other offers pain ….. fear ….. worry ….. eternal destruction. The Kingdom of Darkness promises instant fun and satisfaction. The Kingdom of Light promises trials now but supernatural power to overcome them. Which will you choose? This is the most important decision you will ever make!

Heart Check

Sue’s Views
Integrity means being the same on the outside as you are on the inside. If we don’t like what’s on the inside ….. we try to disguise it by trying to look better ….. sound smarter …… appear richer etc. But eventually ….. what’s on the inside will come out. ‘Out of the abundance of the heart ….. the mouth speaks!’ Things like envy ….. resentment ….. pride ….. will reveal their ugly heads. Do you need a heart check? I know I do! It starts with acknowledging what is there ….. confessing it to God ….. and asking Him to help you get rid of it. David’s prayer in Psalm 51 is a great example to follow:
“Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.
Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.
Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what was evil in your sight;
So you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit to sustain
        me.”

Stormy Weather

Sue’s Views
We are experiencing some severe weather events here in New Zealand and many have had to evacuate their homes due to flooding. There’s little we can do to prepare for a storm. They prove how little control we have. Storms feature quite often in the Bible ….. and they are usually accompanied by miracles! Noah’s flood ….. Jonah’s being swallowed by a whale ….. Peter’s walking on water ….. Jesus calming the storm ….. Paul’s survival of a shipwreck. Whether your storm is a literal one or a metaphorical storm of life ….. there is a miracle waiting for you! God wants to use this situation to prove that He is in control!

The Way

Sue’s Views
We humans like to know what’s ahead before we move ….. but God wants us to walk by faith in Him. He doesn’t show us the whole journey ….. just the next step. As we walk ….. the path becomes clearer. Jesus said ‘I am the Way’. The way to where? To God the Father! He has already paved the way. It doesn’t mean there won’t be problems along the way. There will be opposition ….. but we can be sure of our destination.
“The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.” Proverbs 4:18
