Have you ever thought about how you would like people to remember you at your funeral? We heard a great message yesterday around 2 Tim 4:7 from Ps Amy Morenko. St Paul, ….. knowing his death was imminent ….. said ‘ I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith!’ I would love to have those words said about me! But are they true? I have the opportunity to ask myself “Am I fighting the ‘good’ fight ….. or am I getting involved with ‘bad’ fights? Am I running ‘my race’ ….. or trying to compete with others’ races? Am I keeping my faith as well as I keep my phone?”
The way we live now will determine not only how we are remembered here on earth but also where we spend eternity. The reason St Paul could say those things was because his faith was based on Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. We don’t earn our salvation by the way we live ….. but we live for Him out of thankfulness for the price He paid for us!
