Why is it always easier to see faults in others than in ourselves? Jesus addressed this by saying we will be judged in the same way we judge others. He said, “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” Ouch! In all honesty ….. finding fault with someone else makes us feel better about ourselves. We start to play the comparison game. ‘At least I’m not that bad!’ But when we point a finger at someone else ….. there are three fingers pointing back at us 👈! If you really want to help that person ….. start by looking inside first.
