We were privileged to witness our eldest grandchild be water baptised last night. We believe it to be an important step in the Christian journey ….. but it has to be the decision of the individual person. Baptism is more than just a ceremony. It symbolises the washing away of the ‘old man’ and the beginning of the new. It is also an act of obedience. Jesus himself was water baptised as an example to us all ….. and He taught his disciples to do the same.
‘Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’
Matthew 28:19-20
